At NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences
Did you know that every year many foreigners come to the Netherlands to study? Many universities in the Netherlands offer programmes in English, so it is not necessary to learn Dutch. NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences is a renowned institute that was one of the first to offer English-taught programmes. NHTV, which was founded in 1966, offers bachelor's and master's programmes in the field of:

  • Games & Media
  • Hotel
  • Facility
  • Logistics
  • Built Environment
  • Tourism & Leisure

NHTV has a modern approach on studying: students do not study theory individually but work on practical assignments in groups, so-called “problem-based learning”. The university also has training companies in which students can put theory into practice and therefore prepares them for management-level positions in an international setting. International accreditations from, for instance, the UN World Tourism Organization and the World leisure Organization underline the quality of education. NHTV works together with many leading education institutions all over the world. As a result, there are many opportunities for intensive student and lecturer exchangesDue in part to the joint research programmes, student conferences and summer courses, the international character of the programmes is strengthened. Furthermore, NHTV encourages work placements abroad or at internationally oriented companies. Moreover, all students are required to do an internship for at least one semester.

Currently, NHTV has approximately 7,700 students from over 60 countries, who join each other in mixed classes. This means you will not only learn about the Dutch culture, but also about the cultures of your classmates!

The NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences is No. 1!
In a recent ranking of the weekend magazine “Elsevier” the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences performed best in the category “specialistische hogescholen”. Every year “Elsevier” published such an assessment which compares small, medium-sized and big universities of applied sciences. An important criterion here is the general “study satisfation” of the students who have been prompted in a national inquiry.
